ABOUT US

The Gardens Team at Farley Hall is a small but perfectly formed group of dedicated and knowledgeable staff, who are very passionate about all aspects of horticulture. They are responsible for the care of the main Hall grounds, as well as three off-site areas across the Estate comprising of our Dairy, Equestrian Centre and Commercial Site.

The Gardens Team are responsible for the growth of a wide range of fruit and vegetables within the 'Kitchen Gardens' which supply the Hall Chef with a constant source of fresh ingredients to use on a daily basis throughout the year. Unusual produce is our speciality, including Bilberries, Tayberries, Cape Gooseberries, Pink Lemonade Berries, Purple Potatoes, and Yellow and Purple Raspberries!

The team also provide the Hall with plenty of colourful displays of cut flowers, grown in the Gardens, which include Mini Daffodils, Sweet Peas, Dahlias and Chrysanthemums. These brighten up the main living areas, as well as bedrooms and fireplaces.

Our professional team of Gardeners love getting involved in new design ideas on an annual basis, as well as trying out new techniques and displays each season, expanding on each and every individuals knowledge and experience to bring new depths to the Gardens throughout the year.

I first studied Horticulture at Sparsholt College, and went on to my first job as Gardener at RHS Wisley which enabled me to get a well-rounded introduction to the world of Horticulture. I arrived at Farley in 2011, seeking new and exciting challenges – and I wasn't disappointed! I have recently completed further training to become a Horticultural Assessor and have started my new role as Education Coordinator, looking after all the Apprentices across the Estate.

I have worked at Farley for over 35 years, and have a wealth of knowledge and experience across all aspects of Gardening and Horticulture. I have grown up with Farley as a huge part of my life, and enjoy taking part in the Pheasant Shooting, helping the team as a Beater when time allows! I enjoy being a strong member of the Farley Gardens Team, and like the diversity that the role brings on a daily basis
